Aerodyn Ltd welcomes Gary Clarkson, Senior Instrumentation Engineer

August 2018 saw the addition of Gary Clarkson to our Instrumentation Department here in Derby, UK. Gary has over 25 years of strain gauge application experience specialising in high temperature applications.

Gary completed his Engineering Apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce in Derby and then worked in the Strain Gauge Laboratory where he learnt his trade, including low, medium and high temperature strain gauge installation techniques. Gary established himself as one of the leads in Rokide Flame Spray Application. Gary also helped to develop best practices for this process and is widely known in the industry as one of the best in this field.

Gary has also worked at various major OEMs including Siemens and GE, and also ran his own company Strainwave Ltd for several years, working for customers such as Rolls-Royce, Alstom, Siemens, ITP, AneCom Aerotest, Cummins, KBB and GE to name a few.

Gary is certified to BSSM Level 2 for Strain Measurement and was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Flame Spray Application from HPI in the USA.
